能所

These two terms indicate active and passive ideas, e.g. ability to transform, or transformable and the object that is transformed.

二法對待， 其主動的一面稱‘能’， 被動的一面稱‘所’。 亦即有為法之造作， 主體的一面稱能， 客體（對象）一面稱所。 如心識緣境， 心識為能緣， 塵境是所緣。 阿賴耶識儲藏萬法種子， 阿賴耶識是能藏， 種子是所藏等是。

自動之法叫做能， 被動之法叫做所。 譬如六根對六塵， 六根是能緣， 六塵為所緣。
